The cooling side of this upgraded version is indeed cooler and smoother than the previous generation. However, the grid-patterned side has a cardboard-like texture. Moving the quilt while sleeping produces a lot of rustling noise, and the surface feels quite rough. It is completely inferior to the last version, which featured two equally smooth sides, with one designed for winter use.
